Have you lost something that is made of metal or has a metal attachment?
Maybe a treasured piece of jewellery such as a wedding ring, or your house or car keys that are expensive to replace.
If you are within my area of S E Kent drop me a line and I will happily come out to try and find them for you. No charge.
If you happen to be reading this and you are from another part of the country drop me a line anyway, as I may well be able to put you in touch with a metal detectorist in your area who can help.

OUT OF THE GROUND
METAL DETECTING
Welcome to my webpage. I am Steve Dean and I am a Metal Detectorist
The purpose of this page is two fold. 1 to share my hobby with those who might be thinking of taking up metal detecting, and 2 as a reference point for anyone who I have approached for permission to metal detect on their land.
All metal detectorists rely on the kindness of landowners. Although not exclusively most landowners are Farmers. Without the permission to metal detect on their land, the activity of metal detecting would barely exist and thousand of historical finds would remain in the ground, some of which would eventually be completely lost.
Because we value the privilege of being allowed to use someone else's land, there is a very strict code of conduct that all responsible metal detectorists follow. We also have Public Liability Insurance to the value of £10 Million usually through affiliation with one of the National Metal Detecting Organisations.
I hope you find the pages on this website interesting and informative. Please feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions.

Do you know of anyone who owns some land that may be suitable to metal detect on ?
Maybe you own land yourself and would like to know if anything historical is under the ground.
If you do and you would be willing to pass on the details or contact me I have a spare metal detector and you would be most welcome to join me looking for those interesting and historical items.
You never know it might be the start of a new lifelong hobby. It's a great way to get out in the countryside, fresh air and exercise with every item you recover being a piece of history saved.
